Last night the Comedy Store was AMAZING!! I don’t think I have laughed so hard in my life. It definitely made my abs hurt! I think I was crying through the whole thing. We go there fairly early so we were in the third row. It was just like Who’s Line is it Anyway except we were there and making suggestions. I would love to go again!

After the Comedy Store I went into the dungeon which is our laundry room to do a load of clothes. I thought about holding off until I get to Wales, but then I remembered that we have to walk quite a ways to get to the laundry mat there. Plus this will give me a fresh start when we have to move which is like a week away! CRAZINESS!!

Today Rachel and I got up early and went to Sainsbury’s to get some groceries. We are really hoping this will be the last time we have to go pick anything up before we leave!

The group was to meet up with our teacher this morning at 11 at Brick lane. When we got there we were greeted by a fellow teacher because ours had the puking bug.. haha love British people! We wandered around the Brick lane area which was the scenes of the Jack the Ripper drama. He was the man that raped and killed 7 hookers and was never caught. It is clearly a poorer part of town. You can also tell this was and is the location of sweat shops or shops that make clothing for the West side (more ritzy side) of town. There were many markets out on the streets.

We walked through a few markets and learned some history as we walked to a Bangladeshi restaurant. The restaurant was called: Tayyabs. It was very interesting food. We had a mango smoothie type drink to start things out. They also brought out a couple different appetizers. One was a little triangle pouch filled with different seasonings and vegetables. Some were filled with meat but mine happened to be vegetarian. There was also this breaded spinach and other things (not sure what else was in it) that was also deep fried. Then they brought out these sizzling plates of meat with flat bread. There was ground lamb rolls with seasonings, little lamb chops with hot seasoning and little chunks of chicken as well as a few onion slices that had been sizzling. They put three different dipping sauces on the table, one mango spice, one mint spice, and one hot sauce. They were all very good. Now if that didn’t sound like enough food we had more after that! Next they brought out little bowls of meat and vegetables and rice to go with it. You kind of mixed it up and put some of the dipping sauces in. All of it was very good but it was way too much food!!

On the way back to our place we walked back through the markets, but we really didn’t find the need to buy anything. On the way back Rachel began to feel sick. She was worried she was having a bronchial attack on the tube which would have been bad. We made it back to our place though and when we were on our street I realized her face was really really red.

It turns out that Rachel is allergic to peanuts. They must have used something with peanuts in it to make our food. Luckily it wasn’t enough to create a life threatening reaction, but she was breaking out into hives. As soon as we got back and saw how bad it was I ran to Boots (the local pharmacy) and got some antihistamine tablets and cream because she knew it would start itching soon. Now she is napping for a bit hugging a cold water bottle and the rest of us are chilling trying to catch up from the last couple days of madness!

We are going back to Lilywhites later because we were so rushed yesterday. We may be going to Grenadier tonight, which is one of the oldest pubs in England.
