Yesterday we had a long day. I was away from my computer from about 10 am on. We had class at 10 talking about the British Government and Parliament system which was really interesting. After that we had a quick bite to eat and then went to do a formal tour of the tower of London. We had a beefeater as our guide. It was really interesting but I also learned that heels were a bad idea if you plan on walking on cobblestones.
After the tour we were going to go to the London Eye but a fog had rolled in so we decided to wait a day. We went out to eat and I had fish and chips for the first time. It was delicious! I also had a London Ale with it which our whole table agreed was really not good.
For our evening entertainment we went to We Will Rock you the musical. It is kind of like Mama Mia but with Queen songs. It was very good and really put me in the mood to dance. So I met up with my friend from London and we went to a club. We went to Penthouse which is on the top floor of a building in the Piccadilly Circus area. It was a beautiful view but was kind of spendy. We danced for a few hours and then went home.
Today started with a tour of the British Museum. We got to see artifacts from all over the world which was amazing! I think my favorite were the mummys and the Rosetta Stone. Although there was a large collection of books which made it fun to go through and read titles. There are some pictures of what I saw below.
We were going to try the London Eye again today but it was closed for regular maintenance for a few days. So we walked the area a little and then came home. This afternoon we are going to go see Princess Diana’s dresses and then tonight we are going on a pub crawl. It should be fun!
