Busting out the sewing machine

I had put away the sewing machine since the last set of curtains I threw together, but it was time to make use of the other fabric I bought the same day. I bought this fabric to cover the orange mess that came with my outdoor dining set when I bought it. It wasn't a bad orange, it just hurt my eyes when I put the orange and teal together.

I started by cutting the blocks of fabric for the covers. I made them just slightly larger than necessary to allow for the seam around each edge. They were still a bit snug, but I think that is a good thing because they will likely stretch some when they get sat on. Each pillow had 6 pieces: the top and bottom and 4 skinny sides. I left one side almost completely open to be able to shove the cushion in. This meant a LOT of hand stitching. I was really not looking forward to it.

I made it through the hand cramps and am very happy with the finished product!
