I knew that I needed to bring some yellow into my living room now that I had a little yellow in the wall art. Spray paint was the easiest way to make this happen. I started by thinking that I just wanted to change out the lamp shade on this lamp that I got from my aunt Sharon when I graduated high school. However, I don't really have any other black things in my living room, so I wasn't going to keep it at all.
Before trashing it, I thought I would give the yellow a shot. I taped it up just like I did with the last lamp I spray painted. The difference here was that I thought I would try to spray paint the shade as well. I knew if I didn't like it, I could replace it for a couple bucks. After a few thin even coats of paint on each, this is what I came up with.
It turned out great! I'm not sold on the painted lamp shade, but I definitely love the base.
