Last weekend leftovers

While picking out which pieces of wood I would use for my knife block last weekend, I stumbled upon some that weren't the correct dimensions, but I loved. I hated to see them go to waste because the wood grain was so gorgeous, so I got my crafty face on. I routed the edges of the boards on all sides (front and back). This gave nice smooth edges to not be quite so harsh. Two coats of tung oil later, I was left with these cute little trivets/cheese boards. This little project makes me want to sort through all of our scrap hickory and make loads of them. Hopefully everyone wants a small cheese board for Christmas!
