This is one of those projects that is never ending. I work on it for a while, then get annoyed with how long it is taking, and leave it for a few months. I finally got to the point that I was determined to finish it. So without further ado, here is one finished chair of my set of 4.
My original thought was to repaint the chairs, but after starting to remove the paint and sand them down, I really liked the wood grain I was finding underneath. That is where the real work comes in. It is a lot of work to get rid of all the paint in all the crevices. I admit that I didn't quite get all of it, but I was happy with what I had gotten. I put 3 coats of polyurethane on it and I think it looks great! Now I only have 3 chairs left. If I continue at this pace, I should have them all done in about 6 years! Here's to hoping it will happen a bit faster than the snail pace I have been working at.
