17 weeks

This week my baby is the weight of a turnip or about 6 ounces. He or she is 5 inches long this week. The skeleton is starting to transition from cartilage to bone this week and the baby is starting to get some fat under their skin.

Last week, I experienced the feeling of being a bottomless pit. On Thursday and Friday, I felt like I couldn't eat enough food! Luckily, I keep lots of snacks at work so I didn't have to make a run to go get more. I got a little bit of crap for people seeing me eating in literally every single meeting I was in, but our department admin was quick to tell me to keep eating. She is so excited for me and loves to chat about what is happening with the baby every day :)

Today, I made the transition into maternity pants. I noticed when I put on my regular pants, with a hair tie holding them together, the hair tie might be a little bit stressed. Maternity pants are still feeling a little too big, but they are certainly much more comfortable than my regular pants! Here is a quick little bump photo as proof there is something growing in there.
