Finally back into projects

I have been very busy with work and wedding planning lately, so it has been a while since I made an update in the house. I had 4 days off this weekend, though, so I took full advantage. I have been thinking about repainting the master bedroom because the color was still making me think of a little boys room. I got inspiration from the blog Young House Love. They have a guest bedroom that they painted in a very dark teal color and I thought this would be the perfect candidate for a dark color on the walls. I opted for less teal and more navy. After the first coat it looked like this:

Needless to say, I was a little terrified. I thought maybe this was a big mistake, but was glad I decided to start with only 2 walls. After the second and 3rd coat I was much more excited. I went ahead and did a third wall and then the 4th got done in this grey color:

I also decided to pull the flowers off my dresser for a more sophisticated feel. I was thinking the art from the living room may be perfect in this room, so I brought it in to try it out.

It was perfect! (although it later fell off the wall, so I guess I need to work on that)

Next up for this room:
-Find matching end tables (we are currently trying the ones from the guest bedroom for size comparison)
-Build an upholstered headboard (I don't know if I want to go with tufted or not)
-Hang engagement pictures above the TV
