What a crazy week it has been! Maggie and Fin decided to both come home on the same day!! I would have never thought that would actually happen. I was even still second guessing it on Sunday when we had to try to get Fin to pass his car bed test. He failed his carseat test for the second time in the last 5 minutes of the test. They got him set up in the car bed and I think he was passing a lot of gas, making his numbers drop. It was the most nerve racking hour and a half I've had lately! Luckily, he passed, we got discharge instructions and we got to go home!
It has been fun to put both of them side by side and see what they do. Mostly, it's a lot of grunting and kicking. I'm sure they will continue to get more animated the older they get!
Yesterday we had our visit from an in home nurse. She asked us a bunch of questions about the kids (eating, sleeping, pooping, etc) and then we weighed them. Fin broke the 6lb mark at 6 lbs 3oz. Maggie is still gaining well at 5 lbs 12 oz. They both sounded good and were mad about laying on the scale.
Yesterday was also bath day. For now we are going to try to keep it to every 3 days like they did in the hospital. This helps their skin not get too dry. Of course, if they decide to pee everywhere, that's another story. Luckily, Fin decided to overfill his diaper on bath day, so we were able to keep it all coordinated.
Cloth diapering is going well. It's really just another load of laundry every other day, so it's not a huge deal. We are learning that they can fill these diapers with pee pretty quickly if they want to. We have had to change Maggie and Fin's sheets because of it. Also, we are learning how tight the diapers have to be for them not to leak out everywhere. It seems like everything is a learning process right now. They do look pretty darn cute in their diapers though!
Today is their first appointment with the pediatrician. They will get immunizations at this appointment, so they are not going to be happy. Hopefully, they don't get too mad and decide not to eat, or decide they only want to be held all night. John is going to work tomorrow, so he will need some rest! I'm sure it will be another adventurous day!
