Today I am at 22 weeks. The babes are 11 inches long and almost a pound. This puts them about the size of a spaghetti squash.
We have had quite the interesting week thus far. I wasn't feeling well at work yesterday, so I ended up taking a half day and heading home. I was exhausted and hadn't slept great the night before, so I figured I just needed a quick nap. Today, I was still not feeling well when I got to work. I was light headed, dizzy and still felt tired even though I had slept about 11 hours between my nap and sleeping last night. I had our first responders at work check me out and they suggested I see my doctor today.
My doctor's office sent me to labor and delivery so they could check on the little ones and run more test if they needed to. While I was laying down after the ultrasound, I almost passed out. It was a pretty eventful 5 minutes. I've not seen so many people packed in a little room! They found out I have orthostatic hypotension. Basically this means my blood pressure is low and when I change positions (or lay on my back for too long cutting off the major artery back there), my blood pressure drops lower. This causes me to be close to passing out more regularly. Their advice is to basically slow down, take breaks and lay down and try not to use the stairs at work if I don't need to.
The good news is, the babies are doing well. They were once again rowdy for the ultrasound. The boy is still breached and the girl is flipped around like she should be :) I'm doing well and can manage through this, as long as I'm vigilant. Nothing like a little excitement for John's birthday!
